Just missed Newton once back in the good old Santa Fe days. Have the Lionel Newton derrick - I guess it reminds me of a missed opportunity. What's the blue & white BNSF unit?
I get there a half dozen times a year and there's always something interesting on the diesel rack. Haven't seen that many geeps though! Be interesting to see how much the traffic drops once they get the transcon double tracked.

Those blue GP38-2s are former EMD lease units that BNSF acquired, and re-lettered rather than repaint. Referred to as the “Smurf” units. LOL. MTH produced some of those units previously.
