WHERE IS EVERYONE !!!!!

It's around $3.79 to 4.09 in Texas.  Little Rock,  Arkansas has had the cheapest gas I saw recently at 3.64.

Kenneth there are usually 3 or 4 unofficial train "shows" at various locations in York on Tuesday,  Wednesday,  and Thursday if you have time and are in the area.  The Sheraton Four points hotel,  the Wyndham hotel, Reliance Fire Hall and the fire hall on north Sherman street.

I realize everyone's circumstances are different, currently where i live the price of gas is about 4.20...last year it was running about 3.20, for me that would be like 16 bucks more (I can do York on a single tank). Since York is what they call discretionary spending, going or not going obviously depends on the total picture. For me going to York is one of my few big expenses (of the discretionary sort), I don't really take vacations, I don't drive to work long distances like some people have to ,  so the extra cost of gas or the hotel room doesn't change much for me, for others it can make a difference and i can understand that (and yes, general inflation isn't helping either). 

I am looking forward to it, I enjoyed going in the fall and look forward to the April meet. Met some good people and had a blast walking around and just being immersed in trains that way (kind of like forest bathing, only with trains; fortunately didn't run into crop dusters and the smelly old men contingent much *lol*). Plus it gets me out of the house, my cat tells me he needs a break from having to share his house with me, so there is that.

I know I've been getting excited by York.  Been going to some small and medium train shows over the past few weeks and found myself running into some of my Blue Hall neighbors and others who I normally see only at York, and of course we found ourselves talking about York.

My York week consists of driving to Gettysburg on Tuesday (hotels there are much cheaper than in York for that night) with a fellow Pgh. Hi-Railer who also happens to be in the Blue Hall alcove with me.  We get up and get breakfast and hit the bandit meets Wednesday morning, usually meeting up with other guys from our club, and then after lunch we go exploring to different hobby shops, club open houses, or other train related activities within a few hour radius of York.  Thursday morning is a quick breakfast at Round the Clock (also go there Friday and Saturday) before setup in Blue Hall.  On Thursday night we go to Quaker Steak & Lube and the rest of the evenings we wing it as to where we go to dinner, but we usually hit a favorite Chinese restaurant (Shangrila) once or twice each York.

I scheduled a vacation day for Friday, and ordered passes.  I live nearby so no hotels for me!  I have been trying to hold back on various purchases so I can bring home some treasures from the show!

I’m only an hour and a half from York so I’m ok, however, seeing the distances that some of you travel are amazing. Hat’s off the each of you. You are what keeps TCA York strong.

I won’t be going cause I’m in Nebraska, the gateway to bad football and lots of corn.

I noticed hardly any items on the FOR SALE FORUM with a pick up at York offered. I have been successful both buying and selling this way.
