I just recently purchased the engine from eBay and I need to reset the TMCC Engine ID. Under the cab there are 3 switches (Smoke On-Off, Cruise On-Off, Reverse On-Off) and there is a switch in the tender under a hatch that I am thinking might be a switch for bell and whistle only or railsounds but I am not sure. The manual that K-Line supply does not document any of the switches on the engine. I am hoping that someone might remember which switch is the run/program on the K-Line Berkshire from 2003.

Doesn’t sound like a TMCC engine. On the chance that it is, use reverse on off.
The Reverse On-Off should be the Prog-Run switch when in the TMCC mode.
W is usually conventional CC is TMCC with their cruise. from http://www.legacykline.com/ord...oem_sku=K3635-7050CC nice looking Berk.

Thanks for the information, Richard. I might look to added TMCC and railsounds in the future because the whistle and bell are just ok. I think the switch in the tender is a cut-off to the speaker and there is no volume knob under the tender to turn down the volume which is very loud. I did purchase the engine because I loved how it looks.
JYU870...If you wish to post pictures of inside the tender and engine there are people here that could confirm what you have. If conventional still a beautiful loco. Some of their production were signal sounds that could be upgraded to TMCC.

For the record, K-line was not 100% consistent about using the CC at the end of a product number to identify a product with TMCC. I gave that advice to someone else because I also believed that only CC engines had TMCC, and I was proven wrong. Turns out, some engines made with TMCC did NOT receive the CC designation. Best way to tell for sure is to give us a look and inside of tender and inside of engine.

I have opened the tender and it does not have a TMCC board. This appears to be a very basic soundboard and the engine is conventional. If anyone has any suggestions on where to purchase a TMCC with Berkshire sound, that would be appreciated. Thanks for the great information.

You would be best to have it upgraded with ERR Cruise CDR and sounds. What is in the engine? Did it have a cruise switch??? Some TMCC items made with signal sounds vice railsounds. But I doubt a TMCC with Cruise would only have SS. G
Yes, this engine has a cruise switch. The soundboard installed from K-Line is very basic, the bell and whistle are loud, very generic, and I do not see a way to adjust the volume. I believe Royztrains is now selling the ERR line. I did not open the steam engine yet to see what K-Line has installed in there.
JYU870.........FYI I looked around on Lionel's parts site and this 5.0 Berk sound card is available for $55.00. I put one in my cart and then deleted it so it appears to be available.

Perhaps one the the members that does TMCC work could put together a TMCC modular system for this sound board.
