I bought a set of MTH SP Black Widow F-3's, an A-B-A set with Proto 2 a while back and have not had any chance to run them until just recently. I dug them out of the box so I could run them down at the Lone Star HighRailers club but when I put them on the track, they wouldn't run, they just kind of limped along. After a quick inspection, I found that the traction tires were working their way off of the wheel set and seemed to be in really bad shape. Well, guess what, there were no replacements (if there had been, they probably weren't any good either) and I have no clue where to even look for some or who to go to. Would someone please give me some hints as to who to get in touch with so I can order a couple sets. Traction tires on locomotives, especially O-Gauge locomotives are a pet-peeve of mine as I don't see why they are needed. Its not like the engines are feather-weights and don't have any heft to them, most of them are really heavy and should be able to pull a good deal of weight without the need for them. Nuff said as I don't want to start a big discussion about them, besides I'm sure they have already been discussed many times over.
Thanks for your help, I'm looking forward to your answers. Have a great week.
