Which autoracks do you like MTH or the scale Lionel cars?

Paul, both brands will get good feedback. I think it's what you like that counts.
rod miller
No contest here. Lionel
BUT they are long and need wide curves and lot's of clearance.
Didn't include Atlas because their cars are not being produced, but I think the MTH cars look better when running with Atlas articulated cars.
In my book it's Lionel by a country mile.
I prefer the MTH. But the Lionels look great too. My biggest concern is are the wheels in the "right" place because where they are on the model has a direct affect on their performance on tighter curves!
if your running 072 or smaller, i tell people buy mikes or /and atlas cars.i made the switch to the scale lionel cars last spring ,running em on 108 curves and they look presentable on that track. i was going to try and cut 2 mth cars to make a scale size autorack, but i couldnt find a band saw with smaller teeth on the saw blade-Jim
I'm gonna say Lionel because of the Self-Adjusting-Coupler System and the correct wheel placement. Also, correct me if I am wrong, but the MTH doors don't open.
The MTH doors do not open. I've seen a few Lionels where the couplers broke running under load in a train.
No doubt for me Lionel although I have both I have since retired my MTH ones. Also you have to be careful with Lionel's. The doors are fragile. Be careful when opening them. I have 12 car carriers on one train and have not had a coupler open up yet. The coupler system is unique the way it makes the cars track through the curves ........Paul
