Who's "O-gauge track"?
If your speaking of Lionel’s O Guage sexional Track, Gargraves would be quieter. I would recommend Homasote on 5/8 Plywood, with 1/4 cork roadbed under either Track, then, only use small Atlas O screws into the homasote only.....That’s Quiet..

That's the way I did it with Atlas track and it is quiet.
This is going to be a temp layout, 45" by 9'. May look into something else, would like Lionel O gauge track thou, with the amount I have. I do believe I need to look into something as sound barrier tho, was afraid of that. Thanks for the inputs will consider it. Right now thou budget doesn't even come close to supporting it as need to replace current HVAC system as it is shot and running on emergency heat till I can get the funds up for that.
Bill, even for a temp layout, quiet IMO is good. There are several older threads on the forum on methods for trying to make different types of track quieter. I recall in particular several opinions of track with built in hollow plastic roadbed were difficult if not impossible to make significantly quieter. Hope your HVAC woes heal quickly.

Wait a minute, there is apparently a new Lionel 'sexional' track. I can only imagine the sounds that come with it. Perhaps you would play the audio.
Warning, do not attempt to use the new Theater Car with the sexional track, it is a violation of FCC regulations.

At least my track doesn't have built in road bed. It's the old tubular track. O-31 curves. I do have O-42 also, so hoping to do two loops. I did one time use some liquid electrical tape on my screws and it did seem to help a lot and that was on a shelf layout about 8' off the ground.
Hoping new HAVC mid Feburary.
IF you want quiet it would have to be the GG. Screws transfer the noise to the wood. SOooo quiet would be silicone using screws till it sets. Some have used plastic ties running them through the wood and tying them from under the table. RT that's all I got.
My 20 year old layout is sectional 031 042 054 O gauge track with added foam rubber ties, on 3/16" cork roadbed, on 1/2" homosote board. Its pretty quiet, mind you I am about half deaf, or so my wife says. She must not speak very clearly though because I don't always understand her. 😱
