ES44. We have 2 Imperials (came in rtr sets) and they look and feel better to me than the scale versions we have. Those and my RK Scale RS-1 are by fave diesels.
MTH NYC Dreyfuss Rail King loco always looked to me like the best compression job for a semi-scale loco. IMHO
I agree with those who chose the GG1.
I love looking at Lionel's various GG-1 models and I loved looking at the real GG-1's (Pennsylvania, Penn Central, Amtrak, and NJ DOT) when they were active on the rails.
When I look at any toy train manufacturer's scale GG-1, however, it looks like someone took an image of the original, transferred it to Silly Putty, and pulled the edges of the picture way too far away from each other.
So sue me.
