Which way does it go, George?

I believe I’ve discovered the clue to discern in which direction an MTH diesel starts, long or short hood forward. Yes, it’s easy enough to look for the occupants of the cab, or the tiny F on the frame, but if neither of those is evident? It appears all MTH catalogued/uncatalogued announcements have the direction of travel from left to right. So long hood facing right, diesel runs long hood forward, and vice-versa.
