I have an oldie but a goodie accessory, the lionel whistling freight shed 6-2126.  I dug this up out of a box languishing in the garage to hook up for my toddler son, powered through a illuminated doorbell button.

When I applied power, for some reason it makes a small hum.  It just doesn't sound right to me, although I think it always did this.  If the power is applied through a momentary contact button, aka the door bell button, how could it be humming?  I check the wires right at the accessory and found 2 volts, without the button depressed.  Is this normal, or just a bad door bell switch.  I have the same model switch running a automated gateman and I read zero voltage with out the button depressed.  I think I just answered my own question, but it just seems weird.  Anyone experience anything similarP3194135?
