I had told my coworkers about George and his very funny and cheerful videos nearly every Wednesday that they were posted. I even watched some of the diesel videos(even though I am a steam head), George made me like the commentary. Yeah, not all diesels are bad, but give me that good old steam. George was a very good man that would make you feel great in a few minutes. He will be sorely missed.

I always enjoyed George's enthusiasm in his videos.  I always bumped into him at York and we always chatted for a few minutes.  One of the good guys in the hobby for sure.  He was and will be missed.

I tried emailing him a few times and finally his wife Pam replied and let me know he was ill.  I emailed a couple more times and she graciously replied to keep me up to date.  I suspected this day would come based on her emails.

My sincere condolences to Pam, his family , and friends.  A soul like George's is hard to come by these days.  I will sound the whistles and horns for him tonight.

Prayers to George's family. I did not know George, but I am familiar with his many videos. He was one of many that inspired me to build a layout and enjoy the hobby. In reading his obituary, I see he was a Pennsylvanian. It seems so many of you out there are from PA. This hobby runs deep with folks from all places, but especially in PA. It was my PA grandfather and father whose train sets I inherited, who's holiday carpet layouts I looked forward to. I hope we can continue to pass along the love of this hobby to those younger than us. It seems we area losing so may of the current "custodians".

Mike
