I have often read posts speaking of anemic whistles or same old same old whistles in different locos. I never paid much attention and thought perhaps the poster was expecting too much from their whistles.
I just had a 3 hour marathon session running my Lindberg E6 Atlantic, my K-line Mikado and a lash up of 3 Legacy Diesels set in the lash up so all horns sounded at once. All ran and sounded great.
I then fired up my Railking Imperial PS3 S2. I thought I liked the whistle. This time after running the others it sounded terrible to me. Funny how relative sounds become compared to other sounds.
I will now pay much more attention to other's posts concerning the quality of the whistle in a loco I am looking to buy. I just bought NIB K-line C & O Allegheny on eBay. I love K-line engines. I'm hoping it has a good full sounding whistle. Any input from those that have this engine concerning the whistle would be appreciated. ( if the whistle really sucks I prefer you lie to me...lol).
