Wow, that is small, but very cool- albeit pricey. What does 5.5"x 2.5" come out to proto-typically speaking for O scale?
Rich
5.5" x 2.5" is 22 feet by 10 feet in 1:48.
I'm sure there are venues this small but they are not prevalent.
Probably belongs snuggled up against a larger building on a small corner lot.
I think that is typical of the White Towers & White Castles of the 1920s and early 30s. These were small enough if a location didn't work they could just move the building to a new location. They also liked to build small and take up odd little spaces in big cities like Detroit.
man,, you are over the top cool!!
North Carolina to have its first White Castle, home of the slider!!!!!!
With the interior too! Build it and show us, we may need sliders here!!
Hi hhtrains, Excellent White Tower, my suggestion, keep it for your layout.

Both the one I ate bags of burgers from as a kid, when my stomach liked their onions
better, and the one in this area, which my stomach did not like, are gone. Wonder
what states they had shops in...not N. Carolina. I think they were out of Columbus,
Ohio (White Castle). I nevr heard of White Tower until not so long ago...was it some
knock-off, or affilitated?
They just opened on on the strip here in Vegas
i used to live in Naperville Illinois, where we had, first Prince Castle. then they changed the name to Cock Robin. They were pretty much the same idea..........small burgers; bigger burgers and shakes or malts.
Best part was dad would walk with us........it was only about a mile away. So you would work up a bigger appetite going there, and munch out walking home.
If you're looking for a kit try Twin Whistle
Twin Whistle has a kit for the White Tower/Castle...
I built it about a year ago. If I can find some time, I'll attach some photos later.

The grand opening must have been pandemonium.
Well, if they are surviving in Vegas, they are surviving...with local and hometown
disappearance, I wasn't sure. Like scrapple, they are an acquired taste .
I've never seen one in southern Calif. I remember when McDonalds were 15 cents. They sell frozen White Castle in the groceries stores here.
I'm getting a stomach ache just reading this one!
Having one on the layout is a great idea. They are really a perfect little building to tuck in any place-big city, small town.

I generally see white castles in the ghetto
White Castle! When I was in my 20's and visiting Detroit we used to hit the WC after closing the bar. They were known as "rectal rockets" back then. Get a bag and eat them all.
Hey Makens what are you trying to say? White Castles just for Folks?
He**, I grew up on White Castles, as a kid, and until my job moved me away from the local WC Lounge. Now I have to travel to Lexington,Ky or North to Circleville, Ohio to visit the nearest WC Lounge! Still love those Little Burgers, and get to share em with others when the onions start fermenting a few hours later.............Grose!
Don't forget Valentines Day is coming up ! The White Castle's in southeast michigan are serving romantic dinner for two. Reservations required !
I'm not kidding

Vegas is their first one west of St. Louis.
I think they are following me! Gulp!
A trip to White Castle was one of the things we looked forward to when visiting my grandparents in Columbus, OH when I was a kid. Oh man, they were great!
Somehow the frozen ones at the grocery store just don't thrill me like the ones back then.
They make into nice structures, we just cannot fit them in because the scenery uses selectively compressed structures and these loom too large. Like a 1/43rd Brooklin Car next to a 1/50th Corgi Fire Truck.

Is there a logical reason for placing this white Castle on a foundation? Inquiring minds want to know.

Well......the good thing is as a kit.....you can make it any size you want....even a flat!!
As offered it is only about 6" square so if you need smaller than that I think you will have to make it.
There is one south of Akron OH on Arlington Road and RT #77. It's been a long time since I ate anything at a WC but they are good!!! Ron P

Local Building Code

Local Building Code
We have that code here........due to flood plane laws all new buildings have to sit 6 ft above to old grade.....makes for some odd looking structures.
