Visiting family near Sacramento. Lots of rain here last few days, and 7 feet of new snow at Sugar Bowl ski resort at Donner Summit! 4 feet at Mt. Rose near Reno.

Scale rail, I like your picture better with the palm trees.
It's cold up here.
Lot's of rain in N.Calif... One 100 ft eucalyptus feel right in front of driveway and took out electric pole... closed the state highway into town and left us without juice for 11 hrs... Thank goodness my better half was not killed by the tree.
Merry **** to all

Merry Christmas Alan, glad I got out of your neck of the woods. Don
I had surprise white Christmas. Yesterday, we got snow instead of rain. It was enough to cover th ground, but did not require shoveling.
Merry Christmas Alan, glad I got out of your neck of the woods. Don
Same to you Don.., have a great ****
We were under a winter storm warning with a projected 4-8 inches of snow. That got cancelled about an hour ago and replaced with a blizzard warning with a project 10-14 inches of snow beginning late tonight. The worst winter storm I can remember here was the blizzard of 1978.
Here in north-central Maryland, we got just enough to make it nice:
Our retriever Reily loves a bit of the white stuff:
Hope you guys had a great Christmas!

We had a white Christmas here in Falmouth, Maine. Falmouth is about 4 miles from Portland on the coast. We had a light snow falling all day today.
Eddie, what kind of critter are you holding? Don
That's Bingo my Boston Terrier. I love her to death.
We had a wire hair terrier once. We called her the wire haired terror. Don
Last two white Christmases I had were a long time ago when Uncle Sam sent me to Korea. Have no desire to do it again
Steve
Steve, when were you in Korea?
Steve, when were you in Korea?
No snow in Venice Florida. We did hit into high 70's today.
Did put some snow under the tree though.
We had some time to play trains!
Our Twin Grandkids (age 3) also wish you a Merry Christmas!

We now have about 10" of snow here in the Northwestern part of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan. A little ways North of us they had over 20". I like snow!

We actually had a white Christmas here in Dallas, a fairly rare event. Overnight rain turned to snow about noon and kept coming. Cold temperatures are settling in (down to the upper teens tonight), there's a fire in the fireplace and a warming agent in my glass. Perfect for this Wisconsin/Minnesota expat.
Beautiful thread Skip, and beautiful photo's everyone. I don't have any photos but we had a white Christmas eve on Staten Island.
Alex
We had a nice white Christmas in York, PA.

No snow on Christmas day, but this morning while my wife and I were at the train store, it started falling heavily. Saw more than one car off the road on the way home, cars skidding everywhere, and every driver with as much as a room-temperature IQ was crawling along. I was grateful for my Chevy's antilock brakes. I sure hope no one is out doing holiday traveling in this storm.
It's too doggone white here in our area! Took me forever to get home, and I have a short drive (too many people on the road who forgot how to drive in a virtual whiteout).
I need a new/bigger snow blower...the one I have can't keep up. And that's after less than three hours of the stuff coming down, with lots more on the way.
Sounds like all my Buckeye relatives up around Dennison and Newcomerstown may be out with the shovels and blowers.
