Just wondering if any of you operate a " one themed or central themed " layout such as a steel mill , coal mine or say a switching yard ? No other industries other than just the one central theme,no mainline running just a stand-a-lone central based industry for operating .

I have in mind there was an article in OGR Magazine a number of years ago about a modular club layout - maybe in the Youngstown, OH area - that was set up like this using a steel mill as the central theme.
Someone from the magazine might be able to identify the run number. It has to have been at least 5-8 years ago.

Grew up next to the Jersey Central. Coal was king, so was commuter rail. So a two themed railroad for me.
Steel Mill, with a long way yet to go.

I would like to know which Run this article is in. I would have an interest in such.
Rick.
I have an electric short line that only services a couple of copper mines. I'm just finishing up on it and will write an article for OGR when I'm finished. I runs down in a canyon and feeds the Milwaukee mainline ore cars from the mining operation. This is just a snap shot of part of the operation. Don
