Saw a decent one at a train show....no box and no manufacture ID on bottom.......looked around to try and find who made it but could not find. Seller said 'Maybe Atlas'.....I liked it but didn't want to buy not knowing who made it!!! Did not look custom painted and factory high hood.......THXS

Thanks....that looks like it. I can't tell a SD-40 from a SD-40-2 so I was looking for the wrong thing!! I run conventional so I should be good right??? (assuming it is working as designed) Did these come in different versions?? IE command control and Conventional??
Again THANKS!

NOT really, the versions were 2 rail, 3- rail TMCC and Dummy. the 3 rail TMCC can run conventionally and the sounds are great!
THANKS!! Sounds like I need to pick it up!

The external differences are relatively minor. The major differences were internal, particularly with modular electronics in the back wall of the cab. From a hobbyist's perspective, I'm happy with any model that captures the general flavor and performs well.
The Southern and N&W high-short-hood diesels were interesting as a carry-over from practices of the early diesel years, when crews were used to having a long boiler in front for more collision protection.
