I picked up a boxcar at a flea market yesterday, and am wondering if anybody can tell me what I bought.
It looks like a Kris Model Trains item to me, but I do not see it listed in the Greenberg book on AMT, KMT, and Kris Model Trains. However it is very similar to one that is pictured.
The car is a plug door reefer with non-opening doors. It has modern era plastic trucks with die cast solid wheels.
It's plain while box is rubber stamped "27 L. V. map".

The car has white sides. The roof and ends are black. Both ends are marked "LV 97477" in small lettering near the roof line.
The sides have a map, done in black with red spots marking the location.

One thing different about my car: The car in the book photo seems to have the map made up of plain solid lines. My car has hash marks, that seem to represent ties going through the solid lines.  (I see they don't show that well in the photo below unless the picture is enlarged, maybe they are there in the book photo too)

The book lists a few variations of the car, one of which was done on a solid body. But I don't think that could be mine, because the book says only one was made.

I am guessing it's a Pleasant Valley Process car.

Can anybody tell me anything about it?

Pictures are below.

My first thought is that it may be a Frank’s Roundhouse car.  Frank Rash, and his son, Jack, offered a broad range of custom-decorated cars in the 1980’s-1990’s, many of which used the former Kris bodies.  I grew up right near their shop (just outside of Wilkes-Barre, PA) and spent a lot of time there in the early to mid ‘80’s talking to Jack while he assembled the cars.  I can’t say with 100% certainty, but I seem to remember them doing that car.  Hard to believe that was about 35 years ago!
