I'm getting really bad with remembering stuff. I was just reading a post about what picture influenced your layout. I have to say it was the look of the two rail track. I thought of Chris's N&W, John's, and Ed's. I should make better notes. From my memory, this pictures is of Ed's layout. I just can't remember which Ed.... (Keystone Ed, Ed Rappe, Ed.....)

Bob Bartizik is correct - it's a picture of a close friend's layout.  Check out his blog at the link In Bob's post.  We'be model railroaded together for over 25 years alternating weekly train nights working on each other's PRR prototype O scale railroads. He models the Northern Central division of the PRR circa 1956 with a really neat representation of the Shamoken Branch.  I model elements of the Pennsy's Middle and Pittsburgh Divisions circa 1952, along with the Tyrone and Clearfield coal Branch.  Both layouts feature suspended hidden staging Loops.  Until the untimely death of past NMRA president and C&O buff John Roberts 2 years ago, we had 3 O scale layouts under construction within a quarter mile of one another.  With over 50 members in the Ford's Colony Model RR club, there's quite a lot of interest in model railroading in the Williamsburg area!

Guys, Ed mentioned thar my layout made the forum. I was happy to hear that as it is always fun to have folks see what you are working on.

You can check out my blog that has followed construction from the start. That overhead loop was inspired by one Ed did on his first big layout when we lived up near DC.

We are now running trains all the way up the hill to the loop which represents Mt. Carmel. I am going to try to post a couple of video clips to the blog as the views are terrific as the train rises to over your head.

The track (2400+') is complete and 80% of the layout is is covered with hard shell Scenery.    The near term focus this year is to scenic the Horseshoe curve area.  The Middle Division and the Tyrone and Clearfield Branch scenery looks rather complete but there is always more that can be done.   If you're planning a trip to our area give me a call to schedule a visit.
