That is so true. Most things last better if they are looked after properly.  And it is so good to see another happy budding female engineer at the controls.

I've read a lot of uncomplimentary things about the various battery powered sets which we see for sale at this time of year - "they're cheap, they're this, they're blah, blah, blah" - but not every family has the financial means or desire to buy a more expensive outfit so these types of sets clearly fill a need. They put trains into the hands of kids whose families might not have otherwise been able to provide or afford them. I've given some of these sets to folks I know and, with proper care, they performed quite well.

Funny, I am 42 years old and still do this!

My wife gets mad when we are out shopping and I run out of the store and watch the train.
