That's an interesting point. Try looking up maritime brokerage sites - search for USA-built offshore service vessels. Amongst all the EMD and Cummins main engines you'll find plenty of Alcos.
Fairbanks-Morse OP engines still have a marine presence also, with multiple FM units running in some Great Lakes freighters until a few years back.
