I dunno...but I hope its done right. I'd like to see Overland do a Brass version but they've been quiet in their camp for a few years now. We won't see these on the rails until late 2016 early '17 so I'd guess Lionel and MTH will hold off the Big 4 until they see how they will actually be painted by the roads. Maybe a Demonstrator release 2016 Vol. 2, if they retool, like they should for this one.
BTW be careful posting pics, the copyright police are out on these, hince why I took my picture down and posted the link in my Revealed thread.
I'd say Lionel, then MTH, then maybe another company. IMHO.
Bachmann will be the first to put the scheme on a Williams O Gauge SD90MAC.
Thats an MTH paint scheme on an SD70ACe if I ever say it. Even if they did use the old tooling and not make new ones Id buy it. It looks sweet
In keeping with this question, who will offer a GE Tier 4 model?
Which would you rather have, the EMD or the GE?

The correct answer is BOTH!
Matt,
I like your answer!!
I guess I should answer since I posed the question. I am a steam fan with a little bit of first generation diesel thrown in; namely F units and RS1 and RS3. However, since my friend is a machinist at the GE diesel engine plant at Grove City, Pennsylvania I may buy a GE Tier 4 if one isn't much money, namely a RailKing or maybe a Lion Chief Plus.
Here's the official intro from EMD / Progress Rail on the EMD SD70ACE-T4.
I am waiting for a GE Tier-4 loco. Either Lionel or MTH, but a Lionel with their drawbar arrangement that minimizes pilot swing, would be prefered. [What does Lionel call this, I cant remember?]
I am also interested in the F125 passenger loco with 4700 horses
If MTH would make an SD-70ace T-4 in Norfolk Southern I might be one if the price is within budget for me. I like that the real railroads are going with new exhaust emission controls for the diesel engines, like the tier 4 exhaust controls.

I think MTH will be first. They will have it in the HO product line also.

So they're about due for some new stuff. If Lionel makes it, it will cost about 9 million dollars after adjusting for inflation

If MTH has given up why did they make the SD60E that has been announced. That's all new tooling. The O gauge demographic is shrinking and tooling is expensive. I imagine that in order to justify steel molds a company would have to sell about 5000 models however making the tools out of aluminum is much cheaper however you shorten the life of the tool significantly. Companies aren't in this business so we can have trains, they are in the business to make money and if your not making money you're not a company for very long
They can 3D scan it and 3D print the body in 3 or 4 large sections to put on the SD70ACe frame.
Andrew
3d printing doesnt lppk as great as everybody seems to think. The product that comes off the printer really does look like crap for a model

Nice video link Frank. They seem positioned well now for the future?
Frank, good question, I hope Lionel makes your suggested EMD version, and with the Legacy System....Thanks for suggesting....Wow!
Good Day,
I'm not sure but I think the SD70ACe-T4 is 2'6" longer than the SD70ACe. Anyone have the technical details on the SD70ACe?

Frank

Can an SD70M-2 T4 be far behind?
Can an SD70M-2 T4 be far behind?
its a whole 5/8 of an inch longer than an ACe
Are these the first of the tier 4 engines? I will most likely buy both also. Hear that MTH you can make a few bucks on this design.

Our guests never notice things like that if the proportions are still correct. The Lionel AC44AC shown with the headlights over the windshield rather than in the nose for certain models, they pick that up instantly as that is the part they see and remember how it looked.
Maybe LEGO will beat everyone to it...........
I WANT TO DRIVE THAT AND BLOW ITS HORN
No one has mentioned either AtlasO or Sunset 3rd rail.

I WANT TO DRIVE THAT AND BLOW ITS HORN
Seriously?????
Bring your own steering wheel, so, you can drive it. LOCOMOTION
Good Day,
Just wondering, which Class I railroad will be the first to order the EMD SD70ACE-T4?............... new any news out there?
Regards,
Swafford
Heard they just sent some out west to Pueblo for testing.
Actually 2 units (same paint scheme) have been sent to Colorado.
