Working on mine and neighbors layout, one thing that I have not figured out. Lionel, why is the wiring so short on all the uncoupler sections of your fastrack, yet you give plenty on the power and switching sections??
Okay, got that off my chest.

Run separate wires from the uncoupler section to a connection block (I use screw-type ones from Radio Shack, but there are plenty of options), then wire the controller from that connection block. Gives you complete freedom of action for placement of all such controllers.

That's what we both ended up doing, extensions. We're both into switching and re-arrangement of cars, so uncoupling sections are a requirement. All cars are on cards, shuffling and assignments are part of our fun.
Wire the uncoupler to an SC-2 and uncouple using your remote.
I just removed the included wires and ran my own to get the distance I needed. It was simple enough to do. I also shorted a couple.
One other thing: Once you're separating the controller button from the uncoupling track, you might consider substituting a different button. I find that the Lionel buttons occasionally "stick", which could cause major overheating of the uncoupler magnet. I use small doorbell buttons, which are much more compact and take up less space on a control panel. See attached picture.

Another bummer are the THIRTY-TWO sections required for an 084 circle!
A little too much "clickity-clack" for my taste!
Gunrunnerjohn,
What is the SC-2 and where do I get one, this will be great with the Command Control FasTrack switches. Please explain how I should set this up!
As usual thanks for the education.

Pine Creek,
I have to point out the obvious. The Command Control Switches replace the SC-2\Remote switch combination.
The remote operation of the switch(es)by the Cab1\Cab 2 of the switch is built into the Command switch. No SC-2 is needed. It's even easier.
Dave, as mentioned, if you have command switches, you don't need the SC-2. We were talking about plain remote Fastrack switches.
Guns, Dennis & Moonman,
My wording must have been poor, I was talking about the uncoupler track and SC-2 use, I understand the CC switches work by them selves by remote control. How do I make the Uncoupler track work remotely? Are you telling me that there are CC uncoupler tracks now also, if so I did not know they existed.
PCRR/Dave
Personally I'd wait for the 6-81639 LCS Accessory Switch Controller 2 (ASC2). The LCS version more or less of the SC2.
MartyE,
Thanks much for the info on the 6-81639, I take it there is no such thing as a CC Uncoupler track that stands alone!
PCRR/Dave
No. Funny you should say that because I was thinking the same thing while posting the previous post. Why not a CC Un-loader track that works off the 455khz "track" signal?
Marty E,
I do believe you will see Lionel engineer these in the near future, infact knowing Gunrunnerjohn he probably has them already designed and in use. Lionel is usually the one dragging it's feet.

Other than the sticky patent on the TMCC stuff, I suspect you'd see a lot of these being developed.
