Has anybody succeeded in downloading the app on his Android-device (smartphone/tablet) from the Google Play Store abroad (outside the U.S.A.)? Any European model railroader tried to download this app successfully? When trying in Finland to download the app, I receive repeatedly the same declining message "not available in your country" on both of my devices (Samsung-smartphone and Android-tablet, as well). What can I do? Any advice from the guru? Is there any patent protection reason, which legally prevents from distributing this technology abroad? What's the point to buy the WIU, if I cannot download the app.

Could you change the country of origin on your smartphone or iPhone? Isn't their an option on the phone to do that? I think there is?? It would kinda suck to have to do it every time you used your train, but you could see if it works. I'd try it!
Both language settings (smartphone device and Google account) are set to English (United States), but still appears the same problem.
Does the Google Play server detect my GPS location or the IP address of the local Wi-Fi router and therefore blocks promptly?
I can't comment on the android version but the UK Apple App Store has the MTH App available. Downloaded it even though I don't have WIU yet. (Just have Lionel WiFi box at the moment)
I know some other guys in the UK have WIU's.I think they are using iPads though.

Same here in Australia, we can download the Apple version.
After contacting the MTH customer service they have activated the Android app in the Google Play store for Finland and now I am waiting that they do the same thing with the iPhone/iPad app in the Apple iTunes store.
Is there any online shop where I can buy the DCS Wi-Fi Unit (WIU box MTH catalog#50-1034) and which shop can you recommend? I don't mind if the shop is in the E.U. or in the U.S.A. or in Canada. I appreciate any web address you can provide with.
