I'm looking for photos of Wilkes Barre and Eastern Railroad rolling stock. I'd especially like to see box cars, hoppers cars and a caboose. Any leads appreciated. I've found nothing on the internet.
Thanks,
Mike

They were a subsidiary of the NYS&W and then controlled by the Erie before 1900. I wonder if they actually did have rolling stock lettered for the WB&E. Great topic!

The only evidence I have that they ever lettered for the WB&E is some line drawings in Harold Fredericks' book "The Wilkes Barre and Easter Railroad" from 1986. He has some line drawings made from photographs showing hoppers, box cars and cabooses and some steamers lettered for the WB&E. All look like late 18th or early 19th century equipment.
I'm making some "what if" cars for the WB&E and the Laurel line. The WB&E are in the early layout stage and the Laurel Line are nearing completion.
Here are a couple photos.

I really like the brown and blue boxcars and the black hopper. Very nice representations. Somebody made a Laurel Line trolley a few years ago. My layout has a section representing Swoyersville and Rt 11, where my dad grey up. JohnA
PS - if you have an extra set of the wb&e decals, I would buy them from you. JohnA

I’m born, raised, and still reside in Hanover Twp so this really sparks my interest! They look great! Thanks for sharing!
Great job on the decals, Mike. I like schemes you came up with for the rolling stock.
I see the Jersey Central equipment on your layout. I really like the whole anthracite railroading world.
