I'm having a problem running a Williams Burlington 44-tonner on my Lionel tubular layout--whenever the 44-tonner gets to an operating/uncoupling track it either stops if running slowly or if running fast it will make it across the operating/uncoupling track but the uncoupling track will buzz for a monent and the rear coupler will open. The locomotive also bumps slightly as it goes over the operating/uncoupling track. This doesn't happen on just one of my tubular operating/uncoupling tracks--it happens when crossing all of them.
None of my other Williams locomotives do this.
Watching the moving locomotive closely, it looks as if the "thumbtack" is making contact with the top of the middle portion of the operating/uncoupling track as it goes over. I took the locomotive off the track, turned it over and looked at it and there doesn't appear to be anything loose or missing in the coupler assembly.
Anyone else experienced this with the Williams 44-tonner? Is there an easy fix? Or should I just send it to Williams for service?
