But, if you want one, and the job was well-done, why would this not be as acceptable as a factory job? Having painted/decaled numerous locos I find them as desirable as factory work - more so, sometimes. Same thing applies if he properly mounted a Brand X shell on the Williams chassis.

BTW - the Wms PA1, while a worthy unit, has an incorrect wheelbase. The fuel tank looks too short (and it is too shallow), but it is not. The trucks are actually too far apart. Lionel and MTH both made PA's that were more properly arranged - though the Williams trucks are a much better, blind-center-wheels design than those from L or M.
