Motor went south, no numbers on motor . I tried an rs-555 runs , but way slower than before. the old motor just said mabuchi on the brush plate . It was a 5 pole motor. Any one know the part number for a high rpm 555 style motor?

Did you ever resolve this?
If not, I remotored couple of generic Williams 4-6-2s with #555s, per "harmonyards" suggestion. I like the fact that the 555s run slower than the original 550. So...
...I have a perfectly good 550, if you still need one...the mounting screw holes are the same, so it's an easy swap.
