My new WBB Southern Crescent semi-scale Hudson was just delivered from Trainworld. The instructions included a strongly worded warning to always use WBB smoke fluid because other fluids are thicker and may gum up the unit. Is it essential to use their fluid? It was not included in the packaging although the instructions say it should be there.

That's probably equipped with a Seuthe smoke unit, they do have a slightly different formulation of smoke fluid for those. FWIW, I've used standard MegaSteam in them without seemingly causing a problem.
I've used Megasteam in my sleuthe units as well. Actually, I've already used Megasteam Eliminator to unclog one.
Thanks gentlemen. I will order some MegaSteam. All I have now is Lionel fluid.
Mark, the Lionel fluid should work fine as well.
I had used Williams with no real problems.
I then tried using Megasteam in my Williams Seuthe unit and it clogged and killed it almost immediately.
However, at the time, I didn't really care as I was about to replace it with a Lionel Fan driven unit from Boxcar Bill anyway but figured I'd pass this info along.
I realize that some here have used Megasteam in a Seuthe with good results but that wasn't the case for me.
Easy to get; follow the instructions.
