Did you check the Bachmann website for parts?
That may be a tall order. Several years ago I bought a Great Northern FM off Ebay and it arrived with broken side frames. I sent it in to Bachmann for repair service, got a call from the service department that they had no parts for the FMs but since they still had some FMs in stock he could offer a replacement but they had no Great Northerns. I requested that he swap shells and send me a replacement. Not a bad deal for the flat fee service charge.
Great deal Joe. I picked up 3 FMs all nice, one dummy. So I used the truck sides from the dummy. The dummy has sounds is the only reason I wanted truck sides. I guess it will sit in the wait and see shelf. Thanks for the reply. Parts for many non Lionel and even Lionel can be very difficult. Jeff at train tender is one of my best source of parts. Ask even if he does not have them listed. Roy
