CSXJOE,

Thanks for posting. I think Willie is one of the greatest singers of all times. I saw him in concert some 18 years ago.

On road again, Always on my mind and this one is my wife's favorite. In fact she drives me crazy, with this one. I must have heard it a zillion times. Well, what the heck I will play it for her this time around  and let Willie know how much he is liked.

It says it will start in Duluth GA.Where my son lives and ends in San Pedro CA. Where AGHR is. This is bazar to say the least. I can fly down and stay with my son for the kick off and fly to So Cal and stay with the friends at Angels Gate were it ends. It is a dang shame old Willie lost his voice a little, guy is older then Lionel.

I think that train will be smoking, the engine, the dinner, and the area were old Willie will be kicken. Some were close to food, some folks get them munchies I here when they are hanging with old Willie.

You have GOT to be kidding! This drug-addled dufus is, in my opinion, one of the WORST "singers" (I use the term very loosely) I have ever heard. Sings through his nose and has no vocal power or timbre at all. He "sings" in his thin, little speaking voice.

I would not go to one of his concerts if THEY paid ME to attend...even if it was on a train.

I think somebody already gave Rich a little of that on his run of the 765. Did  you hear Rich singing behind the controls of the 765 by the way? Sounded exactly like Willie...

There was a picture of him taken with his signature yellow gloves on - the right-hand glove on the left hand???? I wonder what's doing?

I am still waiting to hear the real truth about Willie...

Rich what would you do if they offered you one million bucks to let Willie sing on your 765 WHILE YOU ARE RUNNING IT...?

What's the schedule for the next concert... on the 765  ?

For a million bucks I could buy one heckuva set of earplugs.

Or maybe I'll bring my Bose A20 Noise Cancelling Headsets that I use when flying the King Air. His singing certainly qualifies as "noise."

At any rate, if it meant $1 million for the 765, I'd have to grit my teeth, plug my ears, hold my nose and go for it. Now...how am I gonna run the engine if I'm plugging my ears and holding my nose? Hmmm...I'll have to work on that.

Listen to this. At the end of this one, myself and two other guys are singing a low b-natural below the staff. This is from a recording of the outfit I sing with. So if I ever sound like Willie when I'm singing, just shoot me.

Whew!   That was really beautiful Rich.

Pilot, Publisher, Engineer, and Singer???

You are truly a modern day "Renaissance Man"

C.Sam,

Choir music generally sends me into the 5th astral plane and for those who don't like this thread, pardon the digression from real train discussions (I know some of you do not tolerate posts from non-hobbyists on this site ... ) I was in the school choir as a child and teenager and miss it.

Here is a piece for you Sam, one of my favorites.

That's why I heard that they had invited him to drive the Flying Scotsman provided that he wears his yellow signature gloves with an orange jersey. There will be TV crews waiting ...
