Any recommendations what to use / where to get etc ? --- Love the "greenish" tint inserts Lionel uses for windows in their scale heavyweight passenger cars
Also - Thought about contacting Lionel or Williams parts department - Not sure if glass inserts are sold separately

A craft store may have this but Lionel used this in some of their heavyweight passenger cars as well.

Plastic from the bottom of fresh strawberry/blackberry/blueberry cartons cut to size and sprayed with Testor's translucent aerosol paint. John in Lansing, Ill
I use clear plastic from packaging, I have it in a number of thicknesses.
Ditto on using the clear plastic packaging material for windows. Just cut it a little larger than the opening. I use Testors 3515 Clear Plastic Cement to hold it in place. If a little gets on the plastic that shows, it doesn't fog up like CA glue.
The OP is looking for green tinted plastic.
