Windows 8 (ugh!)

How is Apple better? Let's see......I've had Macs since '88 and have never had a virus, never crashed. Their frequency of repair is the lowest in the business and customer satisfaction is the highest. The operating system is intuitive and fun. I do realize that some things are incompatible....for instance.....transferring MTH sound files or DCS updates. But those kinds of things are fewer and further between. They are more expensive, but in my view, you get what you pay for. There's a reason why Apple has gone from a boutique operation to one of the biggest companies in the world. Try one. You'll like it.

I know a number of very smart folks in the IT industry who swear by Apple.

But I have no interest in a closed system.

Let me know when I can buy a Dell or a Lenovo laptop loaded with Apple's operating system.

My next workstation may be Linux.

Absolutely. Buy an operating system that does what you want to do, not what your neighbor has or not joining the club...but decide what you want to do and will this do what I want.

I run Windows on my Mac.

The OP's question was about using Windoze 8 with the DCS Loader. That question has been answered. Before this turns into a Windoze forum, I am going to close this thread.
