Winter Ride On A Foreign Critter

It has a very advanced remote control system - just whistle and there it goes!!

The Cyrillic alphabet is either Russian or Ukrainian...Schmalspur-Wagens is German

for Narrow Gauge Cars.  There are English translations in the captions.

It looked like so much fun I would have paid to take a ride, as much or even more than a steam excursion. I was amazed at how fast these guys were puttering along, the snow flying off the windshield and not being concerned the think would hit a patch of ice and continue on it's way through the forest without the benefit of track, they being none the wiser.   Whoopee!

Some of those little diesel units have a lot more oomph than one might at first think. I was at my local railway a few weeks ago, and a little Kof unit was being used to shuffle large locomotives around in the shed area. It was quite interesting to watch a large passenger locomotive being pulled and pushed around by a little Kof. 

That thing looks like a Russian military truck with a cowcatcher. Cool video! By the way, Vygoda is in Ukraine.
