I needed wire for my woodland scenic foam cutter. So I went down to the haedware store and bought 28 gauge because it was the smallest they had. It was galvanized. It didnt heat up at all. I called woodland scenic and they said I had to use their wire (nichrome 30 gauge). I was wondering if I could get 30 gauge nichrome waire off ebay. Woodland scenic is 3.99 for 48 inches and ebay is 3.14 free shipping for 100 feet. Has anyone had any experience with this?

Be glad the galvanized wire failed to heat......it emits a poison gas when heated........

As for the other.......don't know.
