I am having trouble switching trains between loops without having a short. I have isolated both loops to run separately with insulated pins in red in photos below. I am using a zw-l, outside loop powered by D post inside loop powered by A post running conventional. Even when one loop has no power it still shorts when crossing over. Where did I go wrong, do I need to incorporate SPDT switch? any help would be appreciated, diagrams would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Hi Rob
Thank you for the help, when I replace the fiber pin with steel, when throttle up on the inner loop the red light flashes on the zw train does not move but outer loop functions as it should.
Make sure polarities are the same on both loops.
Thank you, how would I check the polarities to make sure they are the same? And how to make them match up? Again just running off the A and D posts of a zw-l. Greatly appreciated!
When a train crosses, both loops must be at the same voltage. The rollers on the locomotive connect the 2 loops together.

It sounds like you might have black to a center rail. Make sure both loops are red to center.
What John said, make sure post A and D are wired to your center rails. The U posts to the outside rails.
