JDS upgraded a Railking doodlebug for me a few years ago.
Removed replaced power truck, added a full passenger compartment from a combo car, HO smoke unit, new lights.
Runs fine with just one power unit, even pulling passenger car, and trailer.

I have the MTH RK PRR Doodlebug and add-on dummy. It has no problem pulling the extra car with on motor.

I am doing something similar with mine, removed 1 motor added a floor and cast seats, and people for weight. New paint, lights , sound , rewired for track or battery and RC and I am still under $200. Will need to add decals KD's and slide glass for the windows. It will pull a LaBelle 80'Heavey wht. wood pas car coach, for my branch line'
