I understand that the power of both roads ran through. Somewhere I have seen pics of Reading T-1s at Hagerstown, but I've never seen pics of a WM J-1 at Rutherford. I have found a record of locomotive tests conducted by the WM with J-1 1410 in 1947 on the through run between those two terminals.

First, how do you pronounce Lurgan. Is the G pronounced like the G in "Gap" or like the two Gs in "Ginger"?

Were there ever any locomotive facilities at Lurgan?

The 1965 Historic Aerials photo shows what might be a coaling tower or water tanks located at the wye, south of Shippensburg, near the point labeled "Lurgan Station" on the topo maps. There is nothing there on recent views on Google or Bing.

Is it correct to assume that the wye was there to turn both roads' locomotives that weren't run through?
