According to local news (wcbcradio.com) the WMSR will be operationally audited by a independent auditor, at the direction of the Allegany County Board of Commissioners.

While officials indicated that the present management is cooperating fully, it was acknowledged that public pressure, including from ex-employees, was a  contributing factor in their decision.

Good news.  Time to ring out the BS

I was at our Train Club in Huntington Wva last evening, and our Club President said , he was to meet with another group from the WMSR, this Sunday. They wanted to make measurements of the some of the different pieces of equipment  that are missing from the C&O # 1309, that we have, as our engine is still all together. i told him to be sure they don't forget the over fire jets, as pictures I saw when they moved it to Cumberland there were none on the #1309 to be seen...

This will be the second visit a group from the WMSR has made to Huntington to do this....?

I hope that they can finish it, and get it going. Ernie did say he was told told that a good hydro was held on the boiler  with no leaks, and that is great, but just a long way from the finish line....!

About time....can't wait to they see what Garner has spent on his beloved "authentic" Western Maryland rolling stock while proclaiming there aren't any funds for the 1309....

I doubt they will have the over-fire jets on the locomotive if they ever complete it. There really isn't a need for them in todays operating environment.

One never knows, especially if & when they get a batch of "bad coal". Those over-fire jets could just come in handy.
