That my be about 10 years ago !. During the time period before the fleet replacement with r44 cars the staten island advance always wanted to do storys about how we kept the old cars running. But in my opinion they were more reliable then the new R44 cars. I didnot like seeing the mu fleet replaced with subway cars and felt that they should of kept at least 4 old cars around. Maybe fix them up for fan trips and also to keep the tracks clear when snow storms occured.
The old B&O cars were good for clearing the tracks? It must have been a higher up that chose not to save a set. What a shame for a transit company not to have any cars from its past
