Wife thought we ought to visit Kansas City just for heck of it this summer.  So wanted to know if there will be any worthwhile train swap type shows?  Looking for mostly O gauge and railroadiana memorabilia type show, not so much ones displays dolls and other "uninteresting stuff" type shows.

Links and or dates contacts appreciated.

I think there may be a couple in July or Aug. sometime, I'll try to remember to ask at my LHS next visit. I haven't been to one in quite a while, 4-5 years maybe. I quit going due to lack of O gauge stuff. Most of the O gauge they had was postwar, looked pretty bad (lots of parts donors), prices were high and I have little interest in postwar, only modern command control has my interests anymore.

There are some train layouts at the Union Station that are open to the public, still free I think. Plus the building has been renovated and it's nice just to look around there. They have them in all scales. I haven't been there in a couple of years either, but have been there several times with my grand kids over the last few years.

There is my LHS, Fred's Train Shop, 7327 W. 80th St, Overland Park, KS 66204 - 913-383-3500. They have a pretty good selection of O gauge and a little bit of everything from all other scales as well. They have more O gauge than they do of any other scale and also a little bit of railroad memorabilia thrown in. They have some nice photos of KC railroading including some steamers, blown up to framing size, as in pictures on the wall size.

If you don't hear back from me on the train shows, hit me up again, I probably forgot to ask. I should be going to my LHS in the next couple of weeks.

Here's one, it's the Turkey Creek Division of the NMRA. I get their emails. I have been once, mostly HO and very little O. It was at Shawnee Mission North High School (Johnson Drive & Metcalf). I went in about 2012-2013. Don't yet have a location for this one, this was all that was in the email:

July 29th Turkey Creek Division Show More information to follow.

FWIW, this was in there too, maybe a little closer to you? Not sure what this is?

Thanks will check out the Ames one, as sounds familiar.

I think that might be the other one I was thinking of and was going to ask about at my LHS, they usually have the dates for some of them.

Just looked it up, that's the one. It's up north by the airport. Mid America Train and Toy Show I went a few years ago and didn't see all that much, but maybe they have changed since then, or I was there at the wrong time?

Doesn't look too bad from the pictures, maybe I'll give it another try someday.
