I think there may be a couple in July or Aug. sometime, I'll try to remember to ask at my LHS next visit. I haven't been to one in quite a while, 4-5 years maybe. I quit going due to lack of O gauge stuff. Most of the O gauge they had was postwar, looked pretty bad (lots of parts donors), prices were high and I have little interest in postwar, only modern command control has my interests anymore.
There are some train layouts at the Union Station that are open to the public, still free I think. Plus the building has been renovated and it's nice just to look around there. They have them in all scales. I haven't been there in a couple of years either, but have been there several times with my grand kids over the last few years.
There is my LHS, Fred's Train Shop, 7327 W. 80th St, Overland Park, KS 66204 - 913-383-3500. They have a pretty good selection of O gauge and a little bit of everything from all other scales as well. They have more O gauge than they do of any other scale and also a little bit of railroad memorabilia thrown in. They have some nice photos of KC railroading including some steamers, blown up to framing size, as in pictures on the wall size.
If you don't hear back from me on the train shows, hit me up again, I probably forgot to ask. I should be going to my LHS in the next couple of weeks.
