Hi,

Would anyone know if the Tender of the ERECTOR HUDSON would fit Scale or Size Wise with the LIONEL Standard Gauge 400E Locomotive ?

To pose the question another way, what is the Boiler Front Diameter of the LIONEL 400E and what is the Boiler Front Diameter of the ERECTOR HUDSON ?

If the Boiler Front Diameters are almost the same .... I am then GUESSING that the ERECTOR COAL Tender could replace the VANDERBILT Tender of the LIONEL 400 E Locomotive ???

Thank you,

Norman

Heck no, not even in the same parking lot! Sorry I can't show you mine put together, but maybe from these pictures you can get the picture, pardon the pun, that the Erector Hudson is freaking huge! That last picture is actually a bit decieving as the 337 is about 8-10 inches closer and directly in line with the camera so it looks almost as big as the Hudson boiler, the drive wheels are something like 3-1/4" diameter and the tender is I'd say at least a foot long and more than 5 inches wide.  It is much wider than Lionel std gauge even if you tried to put it on Lionel trucks. Now if you used it for a template and made a sheet metal tender shell scaled down a little bit, you might be on to something reasonable to put behind a 400E but at that point, you might as well ditch the 400E and build a home made 600E!
