We have a bunch of Woodland Scenic and Menards buildings that are not powered, as we keep re-arranging them for fit or function.
Taking a cue from my contactless rechargable toothbrush, wouldn't it be nice if we could stick an induction coil under the table where we want a building and the buildings coil positioned over it would light it. Would not have to drill holes or plug them up when the city re-development people roll through town every so often..
Now being a retired EE, I readily realize it is not practical, given the magnetic field strengths required of the under table primary coil to "reach" through the table to the building's secondary coil with enough energy to supply the voltage for lighting.
But we can dream, right?
