Keep the progress coming Joe.

how thick is the plywood? looks pretty robust and heavy. if that's a 1-1/2" stringer supporting the plywood in your last photo, it's gotta be close to 1" ply.
I'm a big fan of the L-Girder bench work. Yours Looks very well constructed.

OC,
I used 1/2" ply . If the stringers are directly below they are 1 x 4 's

Thanks so much Scale City! I have to be honest here. My train buddy Rich Boyen built a 4 x 8 for his Christmas layout/Display. I was amazed at how strong it was. But when I borrowed his book, i had a very difficult time understanding the way the table was put together. So, He came over and help me build it. I think if the book would have been written so that it was easier to understand I think more people would use the design. I could put it together in my sleep now but the way the book is written it difficult or was difficult for me anyway.

That might be a good thread for you to develop maybe you and Rich could make a video to help others with it.L girder makes an easy to modify base for a layout that is strong and fairly quick to build. Or maybe contact OGR and write an article. Just a thought.
I spent a couple hours on the layout this morning screwing down the plywood to the cleats underneath then decided to unpack some of the USA track.

Joe, you need to have an open house next March when we come up your way again.
