I have personally run one of those WWII trans-Iranian ALCO RS1's (8669) at our museum in Chattanooga, TN (TVRM). They had six-wheel trucks and a tapered European cab for narrow tunnel clearances. Fun engines to run with conventional brake stands and notched throttle. The cab roof had beaded board construction. They were fairly easy to maintain.
