I have enjoyed using Legacy K-Line for getting info and finding a list of things they made, but this week I've been only getting 404 errors. 1st it was app not found issues, but now it's a flat out nothing found error. As a resource, it's a shame to see it just gone like that. And Google cache will only have it for so long before it's gone too. Does anyone know what happened? Will it be gone for good?

Works for me. Maybe just a temporary glitch.

I find it on this link.

It's still there...
Just checked it as well, and it is working fine.
My yahoo group is another K-Line reference tool, in particular for earlier production items.

Well, glad to see it back, but all week and this morning it didn't work. Maybe it would of come back sooner if I had posted about it Monday...
This is a wonderful resource for those of us who love K-Line products. I tried to visit the site the other day and it did not work for me. Glad to hear it is back.
I have been using it a lot the last several days with no problems.
Hi,
I operate the site. Unfortunately, my service provider had an outage for a couple days. It was news to me as well.
Site is back up now.
Enjoy!
It's a great resource Mark, thanks for your efforts in keeping the site up.

What John said, thanks Mark.

Thanks for the site Mark. Question, I have a K-Line locomotive that isn't on your site. What do you need to know to add it?

Catalog, SKU, Title, Description, Road Name, Picture (640x480) and a feature list.
I bought it used, so I don't know much about it. It's a green 5 stripe semi scale GG1, K2780-4892RS. It has TMCC and RailSounds, and from what I can tell it was a KCC item. Maybe others here will know more about it. I can take a photo of it if you'd like.
The K-Line K2780-4892RS KCC Exclusive Pennsylvania GG1 Electric Locomotive with TrainMaster Command Control and RailSounds. Features include a die-cast body, dual vertical motors with flywheels, 3 position reverse unit, operating headlights, operating marker lights, working pantographs, and an Electrocoupler.
If I had to guess, I'd say it actually has two electrocouplers.
Indeed it does. It'll be one of my dual purpose locomotives, for switching and mainline running because of that. It's a great runner, sounds good and runs slow and smooth. It doesn't have cruse that I can tell if anyone was wondering.
Typically, the K-Line models with cruise ended with CC, though that's not universal.
I think yours was was upgraded.
I think mine is 4912IC.
Everything indicates it was supposed to be conventional.
Nib and I never took to shell off yet.
It may have been ordered from K-line upgraded.
TMCC and Railsounds. Most likely 4.0.
No cruise. And generic diesel manual.
Strong and takes off like a rocket. I've heard adding cruise and also wiring motor in series is recommended
I am not familiar with all of the traditional size GG1s made by K-Line but have worked on a few made in the late '90s that had factory TMCC. It was pre modular though and definitely did not have cruise.
Pete
Like John's post says, and I've read it on more than Dash's site, it was a KCC exclusive, and it came from the factory with TMCC. The gentleman I bought it from also said it had factory TMCC. I've had it open to repair a factory wiring issue, and it does not look like it's been upgraded. It was worth every penny I paid for it, which wasn't very much, hence why I got it.
I have a few K-Line locomotives with factory TMCC, all have been modular electronics with RS4. I've never seen a K-Line with the old LCRU & RS 2.5.
What can I say. You haven't worked on any early K-lines then. These engines I worked on were made around 1998.
Pete
You're right Pete, at least none that had TMCC that early.
I recently bought the A5 PRR switcher on eBay for $190, it was like new, I don't know if it was ever run. I added the ERR Cruise Commander M to give it cruise control and it's a great little engine.
Hi Everyone, Thanks for helping me out with my A5 smoke unit. I have acquired a few K-Line pieces recently and the K2780-4892RS is one of them. There is a white round plastic piece on the underside which reads EOI or EOT. I don't know what this is and no manual came with the loco. The plastic piece came off and now I have no sound. I cannot seem to pop it back into place. It doesn't look like it is broken but it is hard to tell. Do I need to replace this or is there a way to bypass it?
This is the second time a thread's been created on this. The K-Line website is still there. I was just on it a few minutes ago. Matt
Another K-Line club bargain was the FM Train Master. I have them in Milwaukee Road and SP. And I sure wish I'd ordered a second Santa Fe SD75 - the other number is almost impossible to find.
Some forum member, maybe Mr. Muffin ??? graciously recreates the K-Line website, thank him for it. I have received a DVD copy of the K-Line website from another gracious forum member who shall go nameless, but it is pretty nice to be able to go check things out at a whim.

I have the K-Line PRR FM Train Master with TMCC, cruise, and smoke. A very nice unit, and it was dirt cheap.
