So Lionel is redoing Y'6's in multiple numbers-what they are not doing is the #2156. The 2156 will be moving to Roanoke to be beside the A and the J once it gets back from Spencer. That more than likely means this Y6 will get more attention than any other, yet the number isn't being produced.

 

 

Also no one has ever made the best looking Y paint scheme...

On the bright side I saved some big bucks since the N&W #2156 and the Interstate #20 isn't being produced.

OK, the Y6a has the huge Worthington BL type feedwater "system" mounted on the Fireman's side, while the Y6a has the Worthington S type feedwater, which has that big rectangular heater tank mounted up top on the smokebox near the stack. The visual differences are thus, quite pronounced.

 

Personally I would prefer the Y6a, but Lionel sure will NOT do THAT.
