Cool
Do a search on YouTube, and you'll find lots of REALLY GOOD videos of that Chinese mining operation, that still uses the 2-8-2 steam locomotives. I've been told that their coal is so bad, that the Firemen (2) have to shovel continuously in order to maintain steam pressure, yet surprisingly there is very little smoke, just all that fire out the stack!
Truely AWESOME!
Different !

Reminds me of the spark show they have at the steam traction show in Wauseon OH. Look that up on Youtube...
That Chinese Engineer must have the reverse lever all the way down in the corner.
Chinese coal must be terribly soft, have air pockets and FULL or sulfur to break apart like that. This type of loco can easily burn down the county side.
Watching that video and seeing pictures it surprises me that there are no ties burning .

No need for a weed sprayer on that railroad.

That's because they are concrete. J
Is that the Kung Pao Railway?
You can bet that there are no wheat fields along the way!
Very cool!

Something similar happened in England when 60163 "Tornado" ran at 100 mph at night.

That is nowhere near being similar. I scoured the video, along with one posted by the BBC and I dont see a single spark out of the stack. There was exhaust that depending on the light hitting could look spectacular, but that is to be expected on a cold night in early April / late March in the UK.
Still seeing Tornado break the ton was a great feat for the group.
