I'm new to model railroading. When I see posts here about what did you acquire, or what stunned you at York, I am reminded of when I was in the Hereford cattle and Arabian horse "business." If you didn't come away with a high dollar bovine or equistrian at one of the highly touted and promoted sales, you felt like you had been "skunked." Just had to buy something to put another arrow in your quiver! It was great fun, and something akin to getting high on something. More power to you! I hope I just continue to have fun with it, and it's still cheaper than owning and flying airplanes, or dealing with registered cattle and horses. Most fun I had since hogs ate my little brother.
