What is the best day to visit York?

If you are looking for the day when dealers have the most to offer then Thursday is the day but the crowds will be the biggest. Looking for sales then Saturday is when the dealers will try and blow out items so they don’t have to pack it up.
All 3 days.

If you're only going one day, here's a few points to ponder.
Thursday is a truncated day, the halls don't open until noon.
Saturday is another seriously truncated day since many of the dealers have packed most everything by the middle of the afternoon.
The only "full" day is Friday.
To be completely honest, its Thursday. The show has shrunk enough that if you're focused on buying stuff and mobile, you can get through it all on Thursday with time to spare. Anything that may be regarded as a "good deal" will be gone by friday.
If your aim is to go, wander around, meet up with people and see what floats your boat, then Friday would give you more time to do that.
I'll second GRJ in that if you can only go 1 day, Friday is the day to go. The dealer halls are open 9.5 hours and the member halls 8 hours.
On Thursday the dealer halls are open 6.5 hours and the member halls 5 hours, and Saturday the dealer halls are open 6 hours and member halls 5 hours.

My pick would be Thursday, with Friday a close second if you think you need the extra couple of hours or so. This time around, my buddies and I will be there from Thursday noon until Friday early afternoon (I am riding to and from York with them). Plenty of time to get whatever is needed or being sought.
Well, Thursday has a couple things going for it. Peter's breakfast at the Round-The-Clock and the OGR gathering at Quaker Steak & Lube. With those in mind, Thursday isn't a bad choice.

I've found some great deals on Fridays and Saturdays, as well, so this will vary from person to person.

You never know what will crawl out from under a table during the meet, or maybe you missed something on the first walkthrough. A "good deal" can be something that's overpriced - if you've been looking for it for a long time. Over the years, I wasted a lot of time chasing "good deals" and have a lot of excess stuff to show for it.

LOL! I suspect that applies to a large number of us!
