Thanks! As a kid, I watched "You Asked For It' during the 1950s. To do many of the shows they had to use "miles" of cable to the TV cameras to move through a factory. This was before "video taping" was developed. I never saw this AF show, but do remember a tour of the View-Master company and their 3-D reels and viewers.
Thank you Rusty for this video, as Joe said I also watched "You Asked For It" when I was young but I don't remember seeing this one. Of coarse now there is a lot of things I don't remember.

I'm a video engineer by trade and this is a kinescope of a video presentation. A kinescope is a a copy on motion picture film that originated as video from a TV show. It's pretty safe to assume that the factory elements of this were also shot on film (probably 16mm) and "rolled in" to the program at the appropriate time by the director of the show and were then also preserved as a kinescope. If you were to view it at the time of its initial broadcast it would be the same as watching any news program of the day where the recorded elements were actually shot on film.
I am a Lionel man but the AF video was as good, if not better than any I have seen produced by Lionel.
That oil drum loader still looks cool!

I did. I should have said that in the first place. Very cool!
Gilbert himself shot a lot of 16mm motion picture film back in the day, but it was mostly nature subjects, though he may have shot some factory footage.
