Quick question on other's experience using z stuff signals. I purchased two for my switching layout. One worked perfectly out of the box. The second didn't even function when connected. I RMA'd this defective signal and received a third. The new signal functioned for about two days. Now I have noticed the sensor doesn't sense an object next to it so it will not switch from green to red. I know the lights work because I have it linked to the fully functional signal. When the down track fully functional signal goes to red it switches the uptrack (not working) signal too red, but beyond that this new signal no longer detects an object next to it. I have adjusted the sensitivity to no avail. So by my count three signals purchased, 2 do not work. Anyone else have a similar experience or did I simply run into bad luck with a batch? Thanks,

Personally I have just installed over 30 dwarf block signals, all are working in order. Make sure you have the polarity set correctly.
I have noticed that when installed from an outside curve, short and light colored cars tend to trick the sensor so the signal will toggle from red to green.
I have six block and four Z-Stuff dwarf signals installed. So, ten signals. Of that a single dwarf does not act properly. Both lights are on when no train is present. The green does go out when a train is detected. Not enough defects to dissuade me from ordering more if I had the need. I'm happy with the product.
I did notice one item though. When you run trains conventionally there is not enough voltage to toggle the signal to green.
